Surgical Practice Fit
Most bacteria are doubling every 20-30 minutes and the coating has to work on gram+ and gram- bacteria. Silver Bullet’s blend of Silver and Platinum is highly effective in killing bacteria locally and has outperformed all other antimicrobial coatings in biofilm reduction.
OrthoFuzIon™ is designed to withstand the mechanical demands of orthopedic procedures, including abrasive forces, bending, and contouring. Silver Bullet’s multi-step coating process helps maintain coating integrity and resistance to flaking and cracking while supporting application across a broad range of implant products. To date, Silver Bullet’s AntiBacterIon® coating has been evaluated in over 20 dental implant patients and demonstrated superior biofilm reduction compared to other antimicrobial coatings.
Non-Toxic Coating
3
The coating, its impurities, and any by-products must not be toxic to surrounding tissue. Silver Bullet’s AntiBacterIon™ coating has passed recommended biocompatibility testing requirements and is the only coating shown to promote new tissue formation, an important factor against implant-related infection.
Intellectual Property
4
Supported by 30+ patents, the company’s IP portfolio leads major technical claims surrounding the interlaced uniplanar sputtering of two dissimilar metals to create a targeted galvanic effect in physiologic conditions. While engineered for application across all medical fields of use, the technology primarily targets orthopedic and dental vertical markets and is reinforced by confidential, proprietary SOPs for coating and post-treatment enhancement.
Antimicrobial Efficacy vs. Key Pathogens
In vitro time-kill kinetic assays demonstrate rapid, broad-spectrum bactericidal activity within 24 hours. Silver Bullet's coating achieved significant log reductions across key Gram-positive and Gram-negative clinical pathogens compared to standard controls.

A clinical study of 33 patients undergoing bone-level implant placements evaluated three novel antibacterial-coated push-on cones against a TAN control group. Coatings were analyzed for biofilm formation via microbiological testing at 48 hours, 2 weeks, and 3 months, alongside clinical evaluations of plaque index, gingival index, probing pocket depth, and bleeding on probing.

Metagenomic analysis demonstrates that timepoint exerts a stronger influence on overall biofilm diversity than surface material. Among the tested groups, Silver Bullet (SB) emerged as the most biologically active surface, driving a distinct taxonomic shift from early colonizers to late-stage bacterial communities across the 3-month evaluation period.

Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and molecular analysis demonstrate that Silver Bullet (SB) surfaces support significantly higher biomass accumulation and host cell adhesion after 2 weeks compared to control materials. Absolute quantification of RPL-P0 transcripts via ddPCR confirms SB achieved the highest density of attached host cells across all tested groups.
